We’ve teamed up with Chelsea FC for a special Black History Month conversation, bringing together Danny Welbeck and Football Black List co-founder Leon Mann MBE to explore leadership, family and community.
The conversation forms part of this year’s Black History Month theme, Honouring Our Communities, exploring the people, experiences and values that have shaped Welbeck’s career and his approach to leadership.
Throughout the discussion, Welbeck reflects on the influence of his family, sharing how they have shaped his career, his values and his approach to leadership.
He also highlights the importance of giving everyone a voice and creating an environment where people feel safe, supported and able to contribute.
Together, Danny and Leon explore what leadership means in football today, the value of positive role models and the responsibility experienced players have to support and create opportunities for the next generation.
The conversation also reflects Chelsea FC’s Beyond Blue approach, which focuses on building a more inclusive culture, increasing representation and tackling bias in all its forms.
The collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to championing Black excellence, increasing visibility and representation, and providing a platform for important conversations that help inspire the next generation.
Our Football Black List Interview Series is supported by The FA.
