The Football Black List returned to the National Football Museum in Manchester in 2022 and 2024 to celebrate the contributions of Black talent across grassroots, community and professional football. Hosted by Sky Sports presenter Kyle Walker, both events brought together influential figures from across Greater Manchester to recognise local heroes whose work has made a lasting impact on the game and their communities.
The 2022 celebration featured inspiring panel discussions with Andrew Laylor, Remmie Williams and Francesca Brown, while honours were presented to figures including Tony Whelan and Diane Modahl.
In 2024, supported by The Football Association, the event highlighted Manchester’s unsung football heroes through panel discussions on leadership, community impact and diversity in football. The evening celebrated the achievements of Old Trafford Juniors F.C. and concluded with a tribute to pioneering coach Ralph Inniss for his lasting contribution to football and the Black community.
Together, the two events reflected the Football Black List’s commitment to recognising and celebrating the people whose dedication continues to shape football in Manchester and beyond.
