Betty Mayeya is a grassroots football coach. She was the first manager of Stonewall FC’s women and non-binary team, before setting up her current club Black Footy Babes. A football collective with the aim to increase visibility and supportive infrastructure for Black Women on the pitch and in the stands, BFB is not only a football team but a community that offers socials, watch parties and events for football-loving Black Women and gender non-conforming people to attend.
