Zeycan Rochelle Yıldırım is a formidable woman working at the highest level of Turkish Football. Zeycan is the mastermind behind the family-owned Club - Samsunspor’s ‘Purple Jersey’. The Purple kit is named the ‘world’s heaviest jersey, which has been designed to raise awareness of violence against women and wider gender equality issues. The impact and innovation behind the kit, wider activations and community outreach work which helps to educate, upskill and empower women, has led to the Club marketing department winning several awards, under the stewardship of Zeycan. Activities include self-defence, English and IT/Tech classes for women, free of charge. Zeycan is a keen supporter of our amateur men’s and U16 boys’ team - HMT Samsunpor. The team represents the purple gender equality kits here in London. In addition to sports-related duties, Zeycan works closely with notable institutions like the UN to champion and campaign for gender equality.
